Water is vital to the success of your lawn. For cooler months, watering twice a week should be sufficient. In hotter weather, you should water at least 3 times per week, and in extreme heat (summer) as much as once a day.
-Make sure that the water soaks down to at least 6 inches below the surface. due to sod's deep root systems, it is essential for the water to reach the root structure.
Mowing should be done on a weekly basis. For best results, use a rotary-based mower and cut to a height of 2-3 inches. IMPORTANT: DO NOT TAKE ANY MORE THAN 1/3 OF THE SOD'S HEIGHT OFF AT ANY ONE CUTTING OR IT WILL BE HIGHLY SUSCEPTIBLE TO DISEASES. Be sure to remove all clippings immediately after mowing to avoid thatch buildup.
You should fertilize your sod every 6 to 8 weeks, using any nitrogen-rich fertilizer. A recommended ratio would be 16-16-16. It is recommended that you fertilize directly after mowing and water immediately after fertilizing to avoid burning your lawn
